Congress passes 45-day funding bill to avert government shutdown

 


Around three hours with time to spare, the Senate predominantly passed a bipartisan bill Saturday night to keep the public authority financed for 45 days, on a vote of 88 to 9, not long before an administration closure was to become real.


The bill, which supports the public authority through Nov. 17, was endorsed into regulation by President Biden late Saturday night, the White House affirmed.
