Monkeypox symptoms explained.

Monkeypox is a viral disease that is similar to human smallpox, but generally milder. The symptoms of monkeypox typically begin with flu-like symptoms, including fever, headache, muscle aches, and fatigue. Within a few days, a rash develops, often starting on the face and then spreading to other parts of the body. The rash progresses from raised bumps to fluid-filled blisters that eventually scab over and fall off.

Other symptoms of monkeypox may include:

Swollen lymph nodes

Chills

Sweating

Sore throat

Cough

Shortness of breath

Abdominal pain

Diarrhea

Vomiting

Monkeypox can be a serious disease, especially in people with weakened immune systems. In rare cases, it can be fatal. If you think you may have been exposed to monkeypox or are experiencing any of the symptoms, it is important to seek medical attention immediately.
